New House
Last week was the bad reality of signing papers, going deeper into debt, and the fears associated with actually getting "connected" to another human being. Before, I could walk away and essentially just be out an engagement ring and a few hundred dollars for closing and such. Now Maryanne and I are legally connected. At least regarding a piece of property in Rogers.
Anyway, that was the scary, nerve-wracking reality. This weekend was the fun reality. We moved some stuff from the dome house to the new house, and got to walk around and plan where we're going to put stuff. Also did some work on the house; Maryanne brought Martin's power-washer, and I managed to clean the majority of the deck and the back walkway. She's been a great help in terms of labor but also morale. I'm not used to having someone around who -wants- to help me, and tells me when something is working or not, I'm doing my best to not overstrain her. There have been others who had no problem tearing me down, but she may be the first who actually tries to build me up.
I don't know how she does it, some feminine wisdom perhaps, but it's something I'm really starting to appreciate.
Officiant... bailed
Okay, so we're back to looking for an officiant.
I'll try and see if we can get a friend of D&L's to do it, a minister at the Methodist church about 2 miles from our new house.
Wanted: Christian clergyman, or woman. Must be devout and worthy of respect, but need not be perfect. Must practice good hygiene and have all teeth.

Officiant
Has been chosen, but I have yet to meet him. He's an Assembly of God minister, and one of Maryanne's clients. Apparently we'll be required to do some marriage counseling, which I kinda' wanted with whoever I'd marry, so I'm happy.
But a tad nervous, which seems commonplace.
"Justify your actions! Prove it'll work and you're not making a mistake!"
I doubt it'll be like that, but that's what I'm already beating myself over the head with.
1 sold, 1 bought, 1 to sell
It's done.
Maryanne sold her house, then we turned around and bought the Rogers house, and now we need to fix and sell mine.
When the sellers are done moving out, by the 17th, we'll move in. -Then- I'll post the pictures.
Things to do at the house, for fun, in no order:
- nice dinner for the moms
- Japanese movie-fest
- play with house's surround sound
- buy frosted blueberry and frosted chocolate sourdough donuts from Krispy Kreme
That's in addition to moving in, unpacking, storing, and so forth.

Start the Countdown!
Where? The
Compton Gardens in Bentonville.
When? October 2nd, at 2:30
How set is it? Deposit has been paid, so I'm guessing pretty set.
And the closing date on her selling and us buying is now Tuesday afternoon.
A bit of a "grrr" evening, but also something to be excited about!

Sis watches plane as I... look stupid.
The Hemingway aquarium
Final lesson
She takes all the good pics of us....
Coming in for a landing
Pisser of a 4th it Seems....
It was one of those weekends where things sounded fun, but nothing really lived up to the hopes and hype.
Maryanne and I went to the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, and ate at Hemingways while we were there. The buffet wasn't bad, but next time I'll try a real menu item instead. Of course, I don't go for the food as much as the atmosphere of the place. Maryanne had wanted to go to the Bass Pro to find some clothes, and I walked away with more clothes than her. So that part was a pisser for her.
We went and spent the night with my sister and her husband, and had a nice time. They always maintain a wonderful house, and he's a good cook, so I like to visit when I can. The next morning, the four of us headed out to watch my mom and her boyfriend sky dive for the first time. My sis and I were amazed, and impressed, she was going to do it. We figured she was joking or something, but she went through the training, went on the plane, and did it. And was wiped out physically doing so. So that part was a pisser for my mom.

And my 4th isn't quite over yet....
