Wednesday Dinner Plans

Tomorrow Maryanne's mom and grandmother are coming over for dinner. And after a recent "Po-Boy" sandwich at Nick's, I knew what I wanted to cook as my weekly culinary experiments. So, without ado....
I'll see if I can get Maryanne to take some photos this evening and tomorrow of my latest culinary ambitions....

On a side tangent, why do we pronounce "wed-nes-day" as "winds-day"? If we spelled it like we pronounced it, shouldn't it be "wends-day"? The 'd' and 'n' are all bass-ackwards.

Comments:
"wed-nes-day" is how I remember how to spell it. It's just all wrong! And man, o, man, you're really gettin' down with the cookin' thing! I've never thought of twice fried french fries. I'm missing all the good stuff.

To be honest, the idea of twice-cooked french fried came from a conversation with Nick and Pete. I blame them for most of this week's ideas. Using peanut oil comes from the Food Network though.

Well, the chicken was great, although the clean up may be a pain. The hummus was fine, but too fatty to be a regular dish. The french fries were good, but I was running on a time crunch and only fried them once. And finally I replaced orange flavoring for lemon in the cookies, and added a light orange frosting; they ended up good and tasting like not-quite-sugar-cookies.
