We're Very Superstitious

So the Professor and I have noticed a trend. We get some savings built up, we become happy with our day-to-day lives taking comfort in having a bit of an emergency fund built up, and then one of the pets gets sick. When we don't have savings, the animals are fine. No problems, no surprise medical expenses. So we've decided that the animals are listening to us. They know when we have money saved up, and they see it their duty to deplete our emergency funds.

And they always seem to be... just hanging out with us... whenever we talk about funds.

So now we only talk about savings as a hundredth of what they really are. We have "two bucks" instead of two hundred for example. It started as a joke between us, but now we're not sure anymore. The cats always seem to be very interested in... just hanging out with us... when we talk about cash.

Like I said, we're very superstitious.
