Gearing Up

Among other things we did over the weekend, the Professor and I picked up two Swiss Gear backpacks and a little hiker's tent. Truth be told, I'm skeptical any of it will hold up well. But the backpacks have a 10 year warranty, and I think the tent has a three or five year. We're off to the Bass Pro in Springdale this weekend to look at sleeping bags and miscellaneous gear. We're hoping to do a trial camping with it all fairly soon I think, before our anniversary trip. Perhaps out in Peltonia?

I also picked up a Hitachi circular saw at Lowe's on sale this weekend. Whenever The Professor encourages me to get a power tool, I see it as a mixed blessing. In this case she wants me to build an arbor at some point in the near future, and the circular saw will be handy for cutting grooves out of batches of 2X4s at the same time.

Comments:
What or where is Peltonia?

My friend Matthew has about 150 acres of land in the hills out past Saint Paul in, or at least adjacent to, a state park.

Now, who's "anonymous"?
