An ode to a treadmill.

Thanks go out to Darryl (who needs a nickname) and his blue pickup truck!

We got the new elliptical machine home, and after he left, the Professor and I loaded the treadmill up and dropped it off at a nearby used sporting goods store. And by dropped off, I mean they were closed and we left it on their front door and ran away, but not before dropping it on my shins. To be fair, we'd called the store in advance and they said they'd just "take it off our hands and scavenge it for parts". No money for it, just saving us a disposal fee I guess.

On the flipside, the motor was shot, the plastics were all cracked, and fixing it would cost more than it was worth. Yes they got some free bits and pieces here and there I'm sure, but considering I accidentally dropped it as we were moving it to their door, I figure those bits and pieces amount to maybe $10 worth of stuff. Which is probably as much as it'd have cost to drop it in a landfill somewhere.
